There’s something I need to talk to you about. I’m not serious very often, but this is something that has to be dealt with. I’ve noticed that you’re putting a surprisingly little amount of effort into some RPs, particularly those on the Jarl Tank wiki. Now, I don’t expect people to write a novella every time they reply, but this one word/one sentence treatment is, frankly, unacceptable.
It’s one thing to respond to a short reply with another short reply, but replying to a paragraph with nothing but “maybe” comes across as disrespectful.
I know you’re a nice person. You’re a very kind hearted person. I don’t believe you are doing this on purpose. But you need to realize that this is violating regular rp etiquette. How would it feel if you put your time and effort into typing a well-written, thought out reply, and got nothing but “maybe” in response?
I was honestly really surprised when I saw the exchange between you and Proasek, I could sense that she was subtly hinting at this in her replies, but I guess you didn’t catch it, which isn’t your fault. I just need to be really frank in order to get the point across. You either match the effort that other people are putting into an rp, or you exceed it, that’s basic respectful roleplaying.
I’m 100% sure you didn’t mean to come across this way, you’re not that kind of person. You’ve told me before that sometimes you don’t have enough time to write a detailed response, that’s fine! Wait until you do have the time, and then put effort into your reply. This is a tactic I use all the time, I don’t want to come across as disrespectful just so I can advance the story.
To be fair, you weren’t aware of this, so it’s my responsibility to make you aware. Put in some more effort to your responses, and you’ll find that, not only have you satisfied other role players, but you’ve fleshed out your own worlds and characters too!
Now this is the story all about how My life got flipped, turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air
In west Philadelphia born and raised On the playground where I spent most of my days Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys, they were up to no good Started making trouble in my neighbourhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"
I whistled for a cab and when it came near the License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!
I pulled up to a house about seven or eight And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!" Looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air
